A Phulbani fast track court on Tuesday convicted a person for his involvement in the Kandhamal riots, follwing the killing of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati in August last year.
Chakradhar Mallik of Daringbadi area was arrested on charges of arson and other cases.
The court sent him to two years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000. Mallik was the first person to be convicted in the Kandhamal case
